Nurse Unit Manager - Mental Health
This is an exciting opportunity for a mental health nurse looking for that next step into a senior leadership role. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and innovative mental health clinician with demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary team. As part of the leadership team, the successful applicant will play an important role in leading and supporting service-wide developments and creating a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Duties
- Manage the daily operation of the mental health team by supporting the effective co-ordination of resources in order to achieve optimal service delivery
- Ensure the mental health service operates in accordance with high clinical standards within a framework and other relevant standards such as professional, service and quality standards
- Provide leadership and participation in relevant service committees and working groups
- Participate in development and implementation of the mental health strategic plan
- Identify service development issues, service development plans and following consultation, lead the implementation of quality projects

Occupational Therapist (full time, part-time, casual)
The position responds to the needs of our patients/clients and provides Occupational Therapy services to the identified client caseload.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Deliver Occupational Therapy clinical services, including assessment, intervention, and evaluation within the multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, including evidence-based practice.
- Undertake routine Occupational Therapy tasks commensurate with level of experience in accordance with well-established clinical and departmental protocols, and with clinical practice supervision/support.
- Participate in quality and service improvement activities within the Occupational Therapy Department, and relevant research to continually improve patient/client care.
- Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through self-directed learning, active learning within the team, and by engaging in professional development activities.
- Work cooperatively and effectively in a professional manner with multidisciplinary team members, clients, and families/carers to achieve a client centred approach.
- Provide clinical practice and operational supervision to junior staff and students.
- This position will require you to conduct home and community visits.
- Report operationally and professionally to the Allied Health Manager, or Senior Occupational Therapist in the relevant work area.
Mandatory Qualifications / Professional Registration / Other Requirements
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or the relevant professional board. Certified copies of relevant qualification and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- It is a condition of employment in this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against preventable diseases during their employment as required by HR Policy.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a company vehicle and hold a current Victorian driver’s licence.
- Current National Police Check
- Current Victorian Working with Children’s Check
