At Brunswick Private Hospital, World Physiotherapy Day 2026 was a wonderful opportunity to recognise the incredible contribution our physiotherapists make to patient care every day.
To celebrate, staff came together for a barbecue at the hospital, providing a chance to connect, reflect and thank our physiotherapy team for their dedication, expertise and commitment to helping patients achieve their health and rehabilitation goals.
Physiotherapists play a vital role in many stages of a patient's healthcare journey. Whether supporting recovery after surgery, helping individuals regain strength and mobility following illness or injury, or assisting patients to maintain independence and quality of life, their work has a lasting impact on patient outcomes.
As one of Victoria's leading rehabilitation hospitals, Brunswick Private Hospital is proud of the multidisciplinary approach we take to care. Our physiotherapists work closely alongside rehabilitation physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and other allied health professionals to deliver personalised treatment programs tailored to each patient's needs.
World Physiotherapy Day provides an important reminder of the value physiotherapists bring to healthcare systems around the world. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the compassion, encouragement and expertise they provide to patients and families every day.
Thank you to our physiotherapy team for the difference you make across our hospital and the wider community. We were delighted to recognise your contribution with a well-deserved celebration and look forward to continuing to support patients on their rehabilitation journey.

Growing up in a family of three nurses, caring for others was always part of my world. My interest in physiotherapy was sparked during Years 11 and 12, when I volunteered at a cerebral palsy centre for children overseas. Seeing first-hand how rehabilitation could improve a child’s function and quality of life inspired me to pursue physiotherapy.
I went on to study Physiotherapy at La Trobe University, graduating in 2010. In 2011, I began my career at Brunswick Private Hospital, alongside weekend work at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. My interest in oncology rehabilitation grew significantly in 2016, when Brunswick Private Hospital began developing an Oncology Rehabilitation Program. I was fortunate to travel to the USA for specialised training, which broadened my understanding of the unique physical and functional challenges faced by people undergoing cancer treatment.
Through this experience, I identified a gap in the management of lymphoedema and advocated for further training in this area. I completed my lymphoedema training in late 2018 and have since supported patients experiencing ongoing swelling and related complications following surgery and trauma. I’ve continued to build my expertise and am currently undertaking further training in scar management.
What I enjoy most about physiotherapy is working with people and being able to make a tangible difference. Whether it’s providing relief during the early stages of a diagnosis, helping manage treatment-related complications, or improving function and confidence, I value being part of a patient’s journey towards feeling and moving better.
