RU Ok Day 2025

R U OK? Day at Brunswick Private Hospital was a valuable opportunity for staff to take a break from their usual routines and focus on something that matters—checking in with each other.

Held in the East Patient Lounge, the event brought staff together over a relaxed BBQ lunch and a selection of sweet treats. It was a chance to connect informally, share a meal, and reflect on the importance of mental health in the workplace.

The day was a reminder that support doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether it’s a colleague, a friend, or a family member, asking “Are you OK?” can open the door to a conversation that really matters.

At Brunswick Private Hospital, we’re committed to creating a workplace where mental health is part of everyday conversation—not just on R U OK? Day, but all year round.

To support more confident and meaningful conversations, the team developed a list of simple suggestions for how to start a check-in—especially when it’s hard to find the right words. Prompts like “You’ve seemed a bit quiet lately—how are things going?” or “What’s been happening for you lately?” were shared to help staff feel more comfortable starting those important conversations.
