Pre-Admission

It is important you attend to specific tasks to prepare for admission, so your stay at Brunswick Private runs smoothly.

Your hospital booking

The booking for your hospital stay will be made through your Doctor’s rooms, or as a referral directly from another hospital.

Complete admission paperwork

If you have a planned admission, you will receive admission paperwork from your Doctor's rooms. Please ensure you complete the forms and return them to Brunswick Private Hospital.

Where possible, we require your admission forms one week prior to your admission date. This is important so that we can confirm your hospital booking.

For rehabilitation patients transferring from another facility, where possible you will be assessed by our Rehabilitation Assessor to ensure suitability with our hospital programs. You will also be provided with several information brochures about Brunswick Private, our facilities and programs at this time.

Mental Health Admissions

A referral is required from your GP or treating doctor, to a psychiatrist with admitting rights to our hospital. A member of our admissions and assessment team will conduct an over-the-phone assessment and require your health fund details. Following assessment and health fund check, we will discuss your case with one of our psychiatrists, who consult to our hospital under their own independent business. On acceptance of the referral, we will contact you to arrange admission and transfer of your care and management to the psychiatrist.

Confirm costs and insurance coverage

Prior to your admission, please contact our admissions staff to verify your insurance and any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur from your hospital stay. Our staff are happy to answer any questions you may have about costs and insurance coverage. If you have any concerns, we recommend you speak to your health fund.

Admission confirmation

It is important that you call our admissions staff on 03 9385 1111 the day before your scheduled admission, to confirm your admission details.
