Professional background
Dr Jason Chen is a consultant physician in rehabilitation medicine. He completed his medical degree at The University of Melbourne and undertook specialist training in Victoria. Dr Chen is a fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, part of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
He has worked at subspecialty rehabilitation centres, focusing on spinal cord injuries and acquired brain injuries. Dr Chen also holds a diploma in pain management, with his main interests being neuropathic and musculoskeletal pain conditions, as well as pain in older persons.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Chen is actively involved in quality improvement in clinical care, education of junior doctors and medical students, and is a supervisor for rehabilitation medicine trainees at his public hospital appointment. He is passionate about holistic medical care and aims to restore maximum independence and quality of life through rehabilitation.
