Occupational Therapist, Grade 1 or 2 (full time, part-time, casual)

An opportunity exists for a dynamic individual to support the multidisciplinary team as a Grade 1 or 2 Occupational Therapist on a full time basis until the end of January 2025 with possible opportunity of a permanent role after this time . There are ample opportunities within the hospital to develop leadership skills and contribute to quality projects.

The clinical areas the position may be required to work across include oncology rehabilitation, orthopaedic, multi-trauma, pain management, neurological, reconditioning. The position is available to commence immediately.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience with functional assessments
  • Demonstrated knowledge in equipment prescription and complex home modifications
  • Experience with supervision of junior staff (Grade 2 level), students and driving best practice
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License
  • Highly motivated, accountable and enthusiastic
  • Contemporary knowledge of best practice in occupational therapy care
  • Passionate about patient care and achieving quality clinical outcomes
  • Committed to professional and team development, ability to engage all members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills

Preferable:

  • Experience with rehabilitation of patients
  • Previous experience in a Private Hospital setting
  • Computer proficient
  • An understanding of cultural diversity
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Occupational Therapist, Grade 3

Occupational Therapists work closely with other medical, nursing, operational and allied health professionals; and with other health service providers from government and non-government organisations. The position is expected to respond to the needs of their identified target populations and provide Occupational Therapy services to the identified client caseload on a prioritised basis. You will also be responsible for leading the Occupational Therapy team, provide supervision to staff and keep up evidence based practice within the team. We are seeking someone with experience in multi-trauma and interest in Amputee Rehabilitation.
